When using crossed roller bearings, it's important to consider the following precautions for lubricating oil and grease:
(1) Each cross roller bearings are pre-lubricated with high quality lithium soap grease No. 2. However, the bearings need lubricating on a regular basis and users are required to reapply same type of grease at a minimum interval ranging from 6 to 12 months to enable the distribution of grease within the entire internal structure of the bearing; the actual interval depends on the machine or usage.
(2) Avoid mixing various kinds of lubrication grease. Avoid contamination: Prevent contamination of the lubricant with dirt, dust, or other foreign particles, as these can accelerate wear and damage the bearing. Ensure that lubrication points are clean before applying lubricant.
Establish a regular lubrication schedule based on the operating conditions. Periodically check the condition of the lubricant and replenish or replace it as needed.
(3) When the bearings are used under such special conditions as high vibration, clean rooms, vacuum,
low and high temperature, it may be impossible to use general-purpose lubrication grease and contact us before using special type grease. Please consult with SFT sales to obtain information about selection of lubricant and also recommendations for the appropriate lubricant type and viscosity.
By following these precautions, you can ensure effective lubrication of crossed roller bearings, leading to optimal performance and extended service life.
When using crossed roller bearings, it's important to observe the following precautions:
(1)Prevent contamination:
Foreign objects entering the interior of the bearings may damage the revolution path of the rollers or disable their functions; take caution to prevent foreign objects entering the bearing.
Keep the bearing environment clean to prevent contamination by dirt, dust, or moisture, which can accelerate wear and reduce bearing life.
(2)Avoid excessive heat:
Prevent the bearings from overheating by ensuring adequate ventilation and proper lubrication. High temperatures can lead to premature failure. If bearings are used at an ambient temperature above 80℃, contact us first.
(3)Correct mounting:
When foreign objects enter the interior of bearings, apply lube oil again after cleaning the product.
Do not attempt to remove the screws and nuts on the split type bearings. Ensure proper alignment and mounting of the bearings to prevent excessive load, misalignment, or distortion.
(4)Proper handling:
Handle the bearings with care to avoid damage to the raceways, rollers, or cage. Use appropriate tools and avoid dropping or impacting the bearings.
Do not exceed the maximum load capacity specified by the manufacturer to prevent premature failure of the bearings.
By following these precautions, you can maximize the performance and lifespan of crossed roller bearings in your application.
